Experience Southern Oregon like never before in Trail, OR. Truly a beautiful chalet styled home on 20 acres offering lots of wildlife and amenities. This will be live on the market in about a week or so and in the meantime we decided to ask the sellers some questions about what they love and admire about the community and their epic home.
What do you love about the community? The Shady Cove/Trail area is a small, friendly community. People that live in the area are all into the outdoors, rafting, hiking and hunting lifestyle. Most of the community lives out of the Medford Metro area, as to have a bit of space and privacy around them.
What might a buyer enjoy doing in the area? We are only 1 mile from a great rafting launch place, at Casey Park, on the Rogue River. During the summer time we've had many fun family times loading up our rafting gear and rafting for the entire day. Fun fact is that we are only about 10 minutes from Lost Creek Lake, and boating or water-skiing would be very easily accessible from this location. We also love to hike. We hike very often directly from our back door!! There is quite a bit of wildlife in the area, on the property on the land behind our house including deer, elk, bears, cougars, rabbits and a wide assortment of birds. There is also fishing on the Rogue River for the world famous salmon and steel head! Then also in Shady Cove there are a couple of art festivals throughout the year, which are filled with local artisan and craftsman creations.
What are some of your favorite restaurants in the area? Mac's Diner, Ma's Restaurant, Miguel's on the river in Shady Cove and Juan's El Corporal in Eagle Point.
What are some of the best places to shop for groceries near your home? For small purchases Shady Cove Market, in Shady Cove and for larger shopping trips we prefer to go to Food 4 Less in Medford or Wal-Mart in Eagle Point.
What are some of the key points about the property that you were drawn to? The privacy and beauty of the natural landscape. From our house we are not able to see the neighbor and we are surrounded and backed by BLM land and the Army Corp of Engineer's land on the other side of the property. Also, the ability to hunt from our back door, and take amazing hikes from our back door.
What schools are near your home? Shady Cove Elementary and Eagle Point School District
Why should people move to this area and why did you move to this area? The privacy and remote charm of being so close and living so close to nature. The ability for outdoor activities are at your fingertips, or your feet... from hunting, hiking, boating and rafting.
What are your hobbies and interests near the home? Hiking, hunting, quad rides from the house , rafting and boating on the Rogue River.
What are your average utility costs? Between $276 and $346 per month. During winter months, utilizing the central boiler for wood heat of the house and heating of the water, definitely decreases our electrical use!
