After the cyber security incident that happened recently, Equifax is now making sure that its clients' information is protected from unauthorized access. The company has stated that it will provide free Identity Theft Protection and Credit File Monitoring to all of its U.S. clients to prevent further damages.
As of now, the Equifax customer support department has been receiving a lot of inquiries regarding this matter but the company assures its clients that all concerns will be resolved as soon as possible. The huge traffic has greatly affected its servers resulting to slow troubleshooting response, however, recent updates about the issue have been released.
Here are the following updates and adjustments that Equifax clients need to know.
1). Immediate Status Verification And Updates
Following the launch failure of the website, clients immediately visited the Equifax website to check if their accounts were affected. Prior to the update, consumers weren't able to determine their status but now, they can check the site and get immediate response for status issues.
2). No Waiver Of Rights For the Cybersecurity Incident
There have been customers asking about whether the arbitration clause and class action waiver included in the Equifax and TrustedID Premier terms of use apply to this cyber security incident. However, the recent updates at Equifax state that the waiver rights will not be applicable on this matter.
3). Customer Support Exansion
Since we are experiencing a high volume of calls, Equifax has decided to triple its call center team. Now, they have over 2000 agents and continue to add more so queries can be assisted the fastest way possible.
These are the latest updates and adjustments Equifax released but there will be more updates coming out soon. Clients would just have to wait for now but the company promises that everything will be back to normal
