With the summer swim program opening on June 17, 2016 it’s time for residents who live in Ashland to get ready to splash around. The Daniel Meyer outdoor pool located in Hunter Park will be hosting swim lessons, recreational swim, lap swim, water fitness and more.
Swim testing for skill level prior to lesson sign ups is available at this Ashland property. Various classes are available and are divided by age and skill level.
Star Babies is designed for the youngest of swimmers who live in Ashland. As a parent and me style class, mom or dad is required to get in the water with their infants aged 6 to 35 months. The focus here is to create a fun and secure environment for the babies to frolic in. Preschool classes follow the same principal with an emphasis on entertainment. With a low child to instructor ratio, three to five year olds will enjoy these introductory lessons, and are usually the most boisterous group in the pool.
Keep Kids Safe on Ashland Property with a Pool
It’s also a fun time at the Starfish Swim School where kids five and up learn the basics of water safety and beginning techniques. When they are ready for more specific instruction encouraged swimmers move on up to the Starfish Stroke School. Here is where the real action happens. Skills featuring competitive strokes and proper techniques will be featured in a lively, relaxed atmosphere.
Local recreation swim is the perfect time to practice what is learned in class. Daily afternoon sessions will be available all summer until September 11, 2016. For more information residents may call 541.488.5340 or visit the Ashland Recreation website.
