The city of Prospect is located in an area that's surrounded by nature. In fact, one of the best places to visit in this town is the Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint which is a peaceful and quiet place secluded within a forest.
It offers a great picnicking spot for guests since the area is covered by lush green trees and surrounded by beautiful flowers adding a nice background view as you spend time with families and friends. You can purchase goods at the town before you head out to the picnicking area. There's the Prospect Gas Station, Prospect Cafe, and Trophy Room where you can buy a wide selection of products needed for your picnics.
If you want some adventure, get a hiking map from the Prospect Information Center and traverse the lovely trails of Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint. These trails would lead you to the stunning Pearsony Falls, Rogue River, and the Mill Creek Falls. It's the perfect opportunity for people to do some sightseeing and wildlife viewing.
The viewpoint is open all year round but during cold and wet weather, just make sure that you have the right equipment since the trails could get dangerous. Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint is pretty easy to locate. You just have to take Highway 62 going to Prospect City and from there, go south taking Mill Creek Drive.
