Prospect is a place that's so rich with history. It was once a small logging town that aimed to build a railroad up to the Rogue River. The goal was to improve the place's prospects, thus acquiring the name Prospect.
An interesting historical attraction is the Prospect Hotel that was built in the late 1880s as a stage house. The place is ideal for strolling and relaxing hikes. In fact, it is listed on the National Register of Historical Places and it still operates today. It was once a 10-room hotel but now it's renovated with 14 motel units. Guest can enjoy a variety of activities including a 45-minute trip to the Crater Lake Rim.
Prospect is also a home for great food. The Prospect Hotel's Dinner House was featured in Sunset Magazine as the "best Dinner House between Medford and Crater Lake". Beckie's Cafe also serves excellent homemade pies and the Prospect Cafe & Trophy Room Restaurant offers tasty burgers with freshly made buns and well-seasoned beef.
Now, lets talk about Union Creek which is a nearby community that also has some history in it. One example is the Union Creek Historic District, which is an entry in the National Register of Historical Places. It is a collection of buildings that includes a picnic shelter, grocery stores, an amphitheater, restaurants and the Union Creek Resort lodge. Numerous activities can be enjoyed here especially in winter where you can experience snow tubing and sledding.
For recreation, Union Creek Resort is the place to be which has 23 unique and vintage-themed cabins and a 9-room lodge. It is an ideal place to have an adventure and experience Oregon's great outdoor.s Guests also get to relax with its spa, salons, and gold courses.
This is the kind of community that everyone should be a part of. A place full of historic attractions where you can also spend some outdoor activities. If you want to find a nice home in this area, search Prospect/Union Creek real estate online.
